Blogger number 3

1. Explain what “to give an argument” means in this book.

What to give an arguement means that you should determine what to say aposes to the reading and the authors purpose. You should analyze the reading and determine if you agree or disagree with the implied statement. It also tells how you should argue your purpose in reading the text materials.

2. What are the reasons Weston gives in support of his claim, “arguments are essential”?

How people disagree with staements and agree. How you persuade readers into viewing your opinions. How you scan through the writers essay of arguements and determine the reason behind the article or writing.

3. Explain why many students tend to “write an essay, but not an argument”.

I think that students only focus their attention on what someone else tells them to write. I don't think that arguments are very easy to be presuasive so they will also take the easy way out. I would write on something that I was told or a smilimar topic from what I was given or even on something that I was very familiar with verses and argument because everybody has there on opinion towards thngs and it is very hard to persuade people with an argumentive reasoning in eassy formate. Unless, you are a very good persuader.

4. Construct two short arguments (one "for" and one "against") as modeled in the Week 3 Assignment section in Blackboard. Put each one in "elements form".

(1)Arguable issue:I think that putting a black African American in office made a difference to the nation.

Conclusion:Chance can about and everything that black African Americans fought for now has meaning and purpose.

Premises:In fact you can tell because most people have there negative opinions and someone in highly elevated executive office have bad opinions. Never the less, the president is contently on the news for something weather it is positive or negative.

(2)Arguable issue:I don't think that people value time effectively.

Conclusion:Most organization planned events would flow excellently.

Premises:The inarguration was suppose to start at a certain time and the president was scheduled to have said the oath at 12:00 the time that he was finish with the oath was approximatly 12:01 and that was a minute behind schedule.

5. Review the seven rules in chapter one. Briefly discuss how your argument demonstrates that each rule was applied, in the construction of your arguments above.

The arguments that I have pin pointed are very brief, up-to-date, and very factional.
However, it describe today's matters in society and how someone is sterotyped for there color and creed but not looked over for there ambition and drive towards leaders. Never the less, people think that blacks African Americans can get a head and that creates a negative environment for others prospective. It also describe opinion but opinion is turn in to factional evidence.

6. Review the three rules in the appendix named, “Definitions”. In your own words, discuss how you took these rules into consideration as you constructed your arguments.

My arguements are formated in short argument in terms of argument elements, one after the other and in "equation", in order to analyze whether my reasons "add up" to support my conclusion. also the premises is well defined so that it fit in to both the conclusion and arguement and can be factional with documentation from internet, newspaper, and historical research.

You must have ethics to succeed.(due Wednesday, January 14)

1. Were the questions on the Moral Sense Test difficult to answer (psychologically, emotionally, conceptually, technically, etc.)? Why or why not? Do you think your responses to the Moral Sense Test questions were consistent? Does this matter?

I think the answers on the MST were not hard they were general questions and there were only about making moral decisions. I thought that my answers to the test were consistence to the questions that were asked they were like answering a+b=c. The cause and the effect and the effect equal the outcome. Yes it do matter because if you could not complete a simple judgement like that you have poor judgement skills. There was not anything hard about the question it was a based upon care, morals, and values.
2. Should people always follow the law? Why or why not? When might one be justified in NOT following the law? Give examples.

I think you should always follow the law because the city or town my perish if everyone break the rules. Most of all, no one would have anything and obstruction would always play a role in the world today without laws. I don't think anything should be justified when it comes down to law because if one person gets a break from something, like a warning from a speeding citation everybody else should and that is not going to happen. (1) the police today are not fair with some judgement(2) today some people are not loyal.

3. In your own words, explain what "social convention" means. Give examples.
Social convention is a agreed upon rule or law that is set by a hierarchy.

For example the speeding limits which were agreed upon by the Department of Transportation and the laws were pass through the president of the company and sent to the govern, who then send them to the president enforce it as a national rule or law so everyone has to abide by it.
4. Should people always follow the conventions of their society? Why or why not? Give examples.

I think everyone should be include in the laws and rules of there society because the laws weren't passed individually the were passed in a whole so that no one was exclude. Also, the laws are place so that everyone a abides by them and there society will be protected. The law makes the foundation for the people to with stand there rights and moral values. For example when you rob some one that is a federal offense but when you commit the robbery with a gun that is a second federal offense and the law is in place to cast judgement and give you the Maxine or minion time for your actions. Without the law people are free to do what the live and no one has morals, values, principal or meaning to life.
5. Should people always follow their own principles? Why or why not? Give examples.

If you principles are good and it doesn't create peoples for the law or put others in danger I think that principles that you set are to be followed but if your principle go again the values of others and put others at risk for danger or some type of bodily harm then no I don't think that persons principles should be followed.
6. Explain in your own words the difference between socially acceptable, legally acceptable, and morally acceptable.

Socially Acceptable is when a group talks it over for you to be apart of there organization, business, or group. Legally acceptable is when the courts or some legal action has made legally acceptable towards a group, firm, or organization.
7. Out of 25 points, how many points do you feel your work on this assignment deserves? Justify your answer.

I think that I deserve an 25 on this posting. I did my work, I used my own judgement and I think I did excellent with answering the questions to the best of my abilities.

Blog assignment number one

1. How would you have explained the meaning of the term "ethics", before taking this class?
I think ethic is you values your background and you characteristics. What you make out it determines if you will be successful or be in jail for life. Ethics play a big role in our you life. Many people don't understand why our parents make you do things the right way or you get a punishment if it is done the wrong way. For example this is your up bring. What you do at home will reflect in the street and most parent don't want people to think that there child don't have proper antiques so they in steal them.
2. What are some of your deepest held values?
My deepest held values are : washing your hands be for meals, opening up the door for women, showing respect at all time. Just the fine qualities of hospitality some of my deepest values. 3. What are some main principles you try to live your life by?
Independence, self- awareness, organization, being self-motivated, outgoing, loyal, and just down to earth. I believe in what you put in you will get out. I know that nothing can stop you from achievement but you and procrastination. I love advising others to do the right thing or even if they don't to just getting them to see the outcome if you do this wrong. It just brightens my day to smile and wave = speak and someone does the same back that just is a heart warmer.

Friendship qualities, Loyalty, you help me and don't always look for a hand out. Just being it from the heart. Show me RESPECT and you will always get it. Positive attitude, eencouragement, telling someone how wonderful they look. I just want the next person to be really with me. 5. How were your values and principles developed?
My values and principles were develop from my parents although I never got a chance to meet my father because he developed cancerous cells when I was one years, I still fell like he was there for my family and me. My mother handed me down every piece of courteous thing that her parents tought her. From coming home at a descent hour, to washing my hands before you go in someones pots, to greeting people when you come in the door. My parent has shown me things that have of the world's kids will never know like going in a restaurant, you aren't suppose to place you elbow on the table it is disrespectful, if you don't have anything to say nice don't say anything at all, and the list goes on.
6. How have your values and principles changed throughout your life so far?
My values have not changed but my principles have changed. I know now how to pick my friends, I use to help a lot of people. For example financial, mentally, and just counseling them to give them my opinion. you can only do so much until someone spoils it for the rest. I know that everyone is not your friend and people show you how they real are in the beginning but you just have to be opened minded and not let them make a fool out of you.
